Learn about programs offered by The Department of Aging & Disabilities that address barriers to employment, and help prepare for, obtain, and maintain competitive employment. Featured
programs include, Senior Community Service Program, Bureau of Rehabilitative Services (BRS), and Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB) vocational rehabilitation program.
FINDING THE RIGHT JOB AND BUILDING CONFIDENCE

This workshop will present practical steps to finding the right employer and job for YOU. A social worker and health coach will also take you through some practices and skills to break down limiting beliefs and build a mindset of strength for success.

Communication is key! There is a lot of uncertainty around how and when to disclose a disability to an employer. Receive recommendations for best practices around disclosure and how to access reasonable accommodations in the workplace. You will hear from a disability advocate, a neurologist, and an individual about their personal experience in the workplace as a person with Epilepsy.
